FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If we have not answered your question below, please do not hesitate to contact us.

When thinking about adding a chin to your family, please consider the following:

1. Chin are NOT recommended for very young children, they are too small to tolerate rough play from children.
2. Grooming is a must, even with a "puppy cut" there is always a certain amount of grooming and shedding. If grooming is something you do not want to do at least weekly, this is not the breed for you.

Are your chin purebred? Are they registered?
  • Yes, we are members of, and a permanently registered kennel with Canada's primary national registry for purebred dogs, the CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB (CKC). All of our chin are purebred and registered with the CKC.
Do you show/title your chin?
  • We have, though we decided to take a break from the show ring in 2017. Our intention is to continue our beautiful lines and return to the show ring in the future. All of our chin have very successful, international pedigrees. See our Showing pages (CKC, CFC) for our show pictures.
Are your chin health tested?
  • As recommended by the OFA, our chin undergo health testing for neurological, patella, eye and heart health. We also do EMBARK Advanced DNA testing for Breeders to screen for genetic disease, including GANGLIOSIDOSIS (GM2).
How do you raise your puppies?
  • Our chin are lovingly raised in our home and are examined by our veterinarian to receive age appropriate veterinary care including deworming, vaccination, microchip and overall wellness. See our “HOW WE RAISE OUR PUPPIES” page for additional information.
I am not from your area, will you send me a puppy?
  • We do not ship our puppies. We look forward to meeting new owners in person. It is a great opportunity to see how our chin live, meet puppy parents and relatives, as well as to ask any questions you may have.
How do I express interest in a future puppy?
  • When a breeding is confirmed, we will contact those on our waiting list.
  • When the puppies are 2 weeks old, a deposit of $1,000 is required to confirm the reservation of a puppy. If anything were to happen to the puppy prior to joining your family, the deposit will be fully refunded. If you withdraw your reservation, you will be refunded 50% of the deposit. We will choose the home for each puppy at 8 weeks of age as we assess their temperament and energy level and match homes accordingly.
  • If you would like to be added to our waiting list, please fill out a PUPPY APPLICATION. We will contact you if your application is selected.
