__"My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet."
~ Edith Wharton

The moment a tiny, trembling rescue jumped from her cage (at a shelter), directly onto my lap and cautiously looked up at me with her big brown eyes, she won my heart and I instantly became an enthusiast of the Japanese Spaniel (commonly known as the Chin).  That was in early 2000, over the next few years we were fortunate to have made contact with several knowledgeable breeders and with their help our family grew from that first tiny rescue into a little pack of wonderful adult dogs who are finding success in the conformation show ring.

Today, Chiyoko is a registered kennel name with the Canadian Kennel Club.  Our Japanese Spaniels (Chin) and Toy Spaniels (Papillons) are our hobby and our passion.  We are proud to show and proactively raise awareness of these wonderfully unique, small dogs.  We are also proud to be a premier member in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) as well as the Japanese Spaniel Club of Canada (JSCC) and the Japanese Spaniel Club of Southern Ontario.

We welcome enquiries, visits to our home and are happy to share our experience with anyone who is considering one of these little dogs as a companion!  We will also, if at all possible, take in any little one who needs to find a new home and help it to do so.
